Immigration Thread

nope I see plenty of problems but this thread’s solution, led by the colon, is to implement the danish solution and I think that is far from being the right solution.
This thread was started by me, back in 2017.
So how can you suggest its this threads solution?

We need to weed out the chancers, liars, trouble makers and low life's, we have plenty of our own.

We need those that want to work here, to contribute to our society and to integrate

I will rephrase it to the solution of those who post in this thread the most, led by colon.

Yeah I agree on the other elements, but my problem with this thread is in my view the overestimating of the problem, no serious debate, the belittling or ignoring of racism in society, and the primary solution that has been put forward a number of times now.

I’m sure your familiar with the throw enough shit at a wall then some of it sticks, if everywhere you look online it’s immigrants committing crime then that becomes your perception of reality and the proposed solutions become more extreme. Before it was more about the numbers of asylum seekers coming but now that that number dropped significantly, which you won’t hear on here, the narrative becomes all about crime.

We don’t need extreme solutions just following our existing rules and speeding up processing times significantly, that would actually solve a lot of issues with numbers and chancers.

Next up economic immigrants which make up the bulk of our immigrant population and get visas or come from the eu. As said I don’t agree with denmarks asylum process but they are also strict on who enters for economic reasons and don’t like immigrants coming for low paying jobs. It would be interesting to understand how that works in practice and what it would mean if Ireland implemented the same. Stay tuned….😂

We need immigrants who bring something to both ends of the economic pay scale…When you go to hospital chances of being treated by an Irish doctor fairly remote or when we are old and incontenent won’t be an irish person. cleaning crap from our arse…The nuns are gone and ain’t coming back. Why are all our medical graduates in Oz. The health system was run into the ground from decades of mismanagement so this was of our own making…..

The immigration system has been a mess for a long time time, you can draw a parallel to the health system or any mismanaged government department again an irish problem yet we re-elect the same buffoons for the last century.

We had one 12 month period where more than 100000 arrived and we build 30000 dwellings a year, the maths are simple, not sustainable..

The result of no coherent immigration policy is the issues we see now on our streets..We have a serious problem that needs to be tackled, that being said plenty of Violence from our own home grown scumbags too…

We have nobody to blame for our jippy jocks than ourselves we are supposed to be masters of our own destiny.Sooner we start to ask serious questions of ourselves the sooner we find a solution..

Funnily enough, the reason we're seeing so many Indian healthcare staff is the very same reason Irish graduates end up in Oz.
Both governments fucked over the middle classes.

What has our health service and immigration have in common

Those and other departments are ran by civil servant leeches , the jobs the lazy asses in school long ago ended up with.
Little wonder

Seeing as most of the staff in our health services are immigrants I would say directly related…

Or maybe people want to go travelling when they are young? Australia is a very high cost country to live in.

Yes but I would say the work conditions are far superior to the HSE, I think a more meaningful statistic would the percentage of those leaving that return to work in healthcare in Ireland and those that stay abroad.

I agree with the majority of what you have said there. On the 100,000 in one year, I do think the government need to be given some leeway on that one as it was an exceptional circumstance however they shot themselves in the foot by providing better supports than the rest of Europe for Ukrainians.

On the violence on our streets by immigrants, how bad you think it is is a matter perception and your news sources etc. With 20% of the population being immigrants there is going to be some level of crime no matter what. I have stated my views on this area so not going to rehash it.
