Blisters like a nettle sting?

Years ago I was caught on the foot by a compass jellyfish. Weeks later any hot water from the shower still hurt.

The problem they used to have a few years back in Spain was there was no clearly defined international word for jellyfish. They used to put up red flags but people couldn’t see anything wrong so would go in anyway. One day this French lad went in and was stung from head to toe. Brutal.

Was down at the pier across from the Warren a couple of months back for our post beach pier jump. A couple of eyebrow raisers forced me to call a halt before some came home with a serious dose of he scutters.

For a start there was hardly any fucker there during the good weather.

Then the water, not it's usual clear to the bottom. A dirty skin/murky appearance.

And lastly, parallel to the pier, what looked like rising bubbles(thought it was sea life first) every few metres. Nah says I . Not today.

Feck, they’re horrible things.. except when you’re diving and the big ones with the tentacles look amazing from beneath!

Think the missus said she read an article that said they were usually to be found in the Med alright

Life Guard said as long as you don't rub the sting afterwards then you should be OK. He said if required they could provide very hot cloths as an initial remedy and a hot shower afterwards would suffice. We all got stung, some a number of times, but it wasn't that bad tbh and thankfully nothing longterm - er so far

Jellyfish are found in warm waters. You'd never see them in Ireland in winter.
