The Hurling Thread

Jimmy Barry Smurph (formerly?) of this parish argued it's a ploy to stop youngsters playing other sports. Keep them occupied. It would be an interesting thesis to study. Do GAA players get to play other sports in a meaningful way these days?
ive a mate who reckons the same but not sure myself. PLenty lads i played with played a bit of Soccer or Rugy in the winter but i never bothered myself.

Also i think the introduciton of all ireland competitons at junior and intermediate has made the season longer for alot fo clubs. Personally id do away with those competions straight away!

Going to Barbados aren’t they ? Well deserved
Vegas and LA. It’d be an awful pity if they were mugged or lost all their money in the Casinos.

My life has been shortened considerably in the last 90 minutes. The woman wants to be an accountant but every second word is f**k, s*****c or h******p.

Good luck with that love. :lol!:

It's actually weird. I absolutely hate Limerick when we're playing them but don't mind seeing them win. Met a lot of genuine hurling people from the county in the past so maybe that has something to do with it. Christ would a few of the f**ckers ever think of retiring.
Im kind of the same tbh.
Was glad they pummeled Galway, and was surprised that I was glad.
The feeling isnt reciprocated from Limerick fans, maybe given the history thats not surprising.
If the current trend continues into the 30s etc and no reason to believe it cant, then maybe Ill start begrudging them everything.

These competitions are absolutely brilliant.
Ask any player from Fr O Neills, Dripsey, Ballygiblin, Mayfield, Watergrasshill, Kanturk, Ballymartle, Blarney that has an AI club medal.
