The Official PROC Restaurant review thread.

What is the PRoC's top-rated food stall in The Marina Market?
Depends on what you want.

Frankies is my favourite overall but it's only pizza

For smash burgers MKT burger are good

Okras for the lob roll or fish and chips is great but it's pricey

Pulet Vous for the Korean chicken

other places I've tried are Nua Asador, shite I thought expensive and tasteless

The Korean place further down by Frankies only alright

The stew place also only alright

Have you tried the Greek place? If there was one of those in the city I'd be there all the time

Golden Elephant on McCurtain Street really pleasantly surprised me this evening.

We got a table outside, so had the benefit of a lovely sunny evening with great hustle and bustle on the street.

The service was legitimately 10/10 - we had a probably European girl in beautiful traditional Thai clothing serving us, and she was so polite and helpful. She was up front about how much spice everyone at our table wanted in their meals, and had great recommendations.

The presentation of the food was remarkable. Myself and Fraulein MöE had the yellow curry, which came out in this bronze thing with a candle underneath it to keep it warm. Very impressive.

There was an Asian lady, possibly Thai, who was out the whole time checking on tables and to make sure everyone was enjoying their meal.

I wasn't looking forward to this meal as while I like Thai food, their online menu just didn't look appetising.

But I'd definitely go back.

8.75/10.

We know what MacCurtain street looks like ya knob, wheres da food 😆

no but I'm keen to it's always rammed

I liked Frankies when it was in town. Had it once from the Marina Market and the quality had dipped significantly. Didn't look great either last night.

I got a green curry from the gaff right next door to Frankie's - Tuk Tuk - it was pretty decent but just missing the touch of sugary sweetness that makes for a proper Thai green curry. Very large portion - but not a lot of chicken in it.

I had it in mind to go to the Greek place but promptly forgot about it until I was going for an ice cream. Next time.

Busiest spots last night were Poulet Vous, Street Frites, Tuk Tuk and the ice cream gaff.

Okras was dead for the entire duration of my visit. A lot of people commenting on the pricing.

€18 for the lobster roll, not cheap
