A United Ireland - what's in it for us (in the South)?

Very little positive, I suggest.
We will incur the financial cost of dragging their standard of living up to ours.
The majority of Unionists (almost 50% of the population) vote for the DUP - most of their elected members make Trump, Vance & Hegseth look like left wing liberals.
And then there is the underlying threat of violence - the TUV, UDA, UVF and others. A few weeks ago, they were burning immigrants out of their houses. Makes a change, I suppose, from burning out Nationalists.

No, leave them as they are.

As much as I object to spending one cent of our taxes oop north, he's doing more for peace and reconciliation than the Shinners have in the last 28 years.

Moynihan hasn't a clue, and is happy to sell Cork out. He'd be better off in SFROI.

Beware though that if SFROI get into government here, they've already floated the idea that we in the Republic of Ireland wouldn't get to have a Border Poll (it would just be a Dail vote to confirm). It took MLMD to say no,no that wouldn't be the case, but it's an indication of where the republican mindset is, and what they'd be aiming for if they got into power here. They're only waiting to sell us out.

Au contraire - it shows where your mindset is gappy. You imagine a bad scenario, ascribe it to Sinn Fein (or as you childishly refer to it as SFROI), and then despite Sinn Fein leadership saying that is definitely not the case, you hope that some of the mud you've flung will actually stick.
