Beamish Cork Folk Festival 2011

29th September - 3rd October
Cork City, Europe.

Are there four other words that would better excite our minds than the mouth watering image of local stout, great music and ‘Cork’ all at the same time? Beamish. Cork. Folk Festival. The job.

The most culturally authentic Cork weekend of the year is upon us and it’s high time we all started leafing through the jam packed brochure, perusing the website listings and deciding what venues deserve our attendance and at what time.

The festival’s main venues are The Pavilion on Carey’s Lane, Christchurch/Triskel on South Main St., Crane Lane Theatre and An Spailpín Fánach on South Main Street.

However over its 33 year history the folk festival has extended its rhythm tapping tentacles into a stack of city centre bars and now features an extensive pub trail to tack on to a tasty list of elbow swinging noggin nodding folk acts in the bigger venues.

If you're slightly taken aback by the choice allow us to boil it down to what we're hoping to see ourselves over the weekend.Download our top 10 guide here.
