Boole's Gaf
10th Mar 2016
There is no piece of technology operating today that does not use Boolean Logic - developed by UCC mathematician George Boole.
Despite this incredible legacy his old house on Grenville Place (across the footbridge from the Franciscan Well for those of you who prefer to navigate the city by pubs!) has been lying absoutely manky and covered in graffiti for years.
We thought that with all the money and energy spent on commemorating his 200th birthday at UCC last year that a few quid would have been set aside to clean up the gaf while they decided what to do with it long term.
Our logic was flawed.
$PROC AND $ReimagineCork AND $CityCouncil AND NOT $UCC = $this |
No doubt the air of intellectual superiority of Cork and its people allowed this genius to reach his full potential here on Leeside so the least we could do was to return what the great man has given us by tidying up his gaf a little.
Thankfully there are plans to revamp the building later this year but we couldn't stand by for yet another year as thousands of tourists walk past up to the Gaol and see the pathetic state of this building.

Thanks for the help @ReimagineCork and @CorkCityCouncil.
