Club Daon-Phoblacht:: Thurs 24th September
17th Sep 2009
Club-Daon Phoblacht le Splanc 24 Meán Fómhair, 8.30 i.n., Dul isteach €5/€3 The Roundy, Sráid an Chaisleáin, Corcaigh
Is de bharr na seisiúin láidre neamhfhoirmeálta sna tithe tabhairne i gCathair Chorcaí a tháinig an grúpa ceoil 'Splanc' ar an bhfód. Tá fuaim beo fuinniúil ag an ngrúpa seo, le triúr nó ceathrar ag seinm de ghnáth.
Is ó Chiarraí agus Corcaigh na ceoltóirí ó dhúchas agus tá tionchair ó chineálacha éagsúla stíleanna ar a gcuid ceoil, ina measc stíl Shliabh Luachra.
Bíonn na ceoltóirí cumasacha ó 'Splanc' ag seinm go mion minic i seisiúin timpeall Chathair Chorcaí, agus i bhféiltí éagsúla timpeall na tíre. Cuireann Club Daon-Phoblacht (People's Republic) oíche shóisialta ar siúl uair sa mhí ins an Roundy. Deis iontach í seo chun do chuid Gaeilge a chleachtadh; beidh míle fáilte romhat, cuma tú líofa nó gan a bheith.
Tá fás iontach faoin ócáid seo, agus do bhuailfeá ann le daoine ó gach aird, áiteanna comh fada ón a chéile le Bhaile an Chollaigh agus An Bhriotáin. Tá easpa mhór orainn i gCorcaigh gan ionad Gaeilge a bheith ann agus tá an deis sin anois ins an Roundy i Sráid an Chaisleáin. Beidh fáilte mór romhat.
22 Deireadh Fómhair - Crossbones (snagcheol & func as gaeilge) 26 Samhain - Ger Wolfe (amhránaí/ceoltóir den scoth)

Club-Daon Phoblacht with Splanc 24 September, Tickets (at the door) €5/€3 The Roundy, Castle St., Cork The birth of trad group Splanc came about as a result of the thriving informal pub session scene in Cork City. Splanc are a vibrant, energetic sound that perform as a three or four piece group. The members of the band who are Kerry and Cork natives have been strongly influenced by various different styles of music including that from the Sliabh Luachra region.
They are regulars on the session scene around Cork city and have also performed at various festivals throughout Ireland. Club Daon-Phoblacht (People's Republic) is a monthly social night at the Roundy (usually the last Thursday of every month). A wonderful opportunity to practice your Irish regardless of what level you're at.
The event has been growing quickly and you're as likely to meet someone from Brittany as you are from Ballincollig such is the diverse interest in the club. Everyone is welcome!
22 October - Crossbones (jazz & funk as gaeilge) 26 November - Ger Wolfe (well-known singer-songwriter from Cúil Aodh)
