FAI Cup Quarter Final Replay (Tuesday 10th September Turner's Cross)
FourFiveOne

† What a manky night for this one! But, two goals in the last 20 minutes gave City victory over Finn Harps at the Cross last night, putting them into the last four of the FAI Carlsberg Cup. There they join the Bowez, a resurgent Derry City and the old enemy Shamrock Rovers.

† The Shed was packed as it became the only real dry place in the ground as the wind and rain swirled around. It was handy for the confetti throwers though!

†† John O'Flynn, the country's top scorer, struck in the 70th minute to head home Jimmy Mull's cross. It was O'Flynn's eleventh goal at Turners Cross - where he has become an instant hero - and twelfth in all since his summer move from Peterborough of England. Good also to see Jimmy Mull back and full of running.

Eight minutes later Colin T. O'Brien made certain of the victory, and although City were unable to notch three goals for the seventh successive home game, it was enough to take them into the draw for next Monday evening's semi-final draw. Any chance of a home draw for the first time in this Cup competition?
