Cork Officially the Brainiest County

Boys oh boys, what more proof do we need? Cork is officially and undisputedly the island's most intelligent county as reported in Wednesday's Evening Echo.

Ballintemple feen Rory Crotty bagged….wait for this….nine A1's in the Irish Free State's leaving cert exams including music and latin. Don't be that surprised though, Cork has been top of the pile every time the results come out for decades.

Such endorsement's of Cork's students is a clear indication that the county must lead the rest of Ireland's stupider counties out of the recession including the particularly intellectually disadvantaged areas of Waterford, Kerry, Dublin and Offaly.

If Dáil Éireann refuses to relinquish control of the county's finances to Cork itself then we suggest that a national exam is taken, possibly at the next election, to prove for certain that Corkonians are a step above the rest of the country's blundering Neanderthals. Why let the monkeys run the show when the ringmaster is ready for action?
