Dublin Journo in 'Cork is Best' Shocka
29th Nov 2011
Dublin media brigade commander-in-chief, play wright and former pro-Dublin shouter John Waters has shocked fellow pale pushers by admitting to George Hook on Newstalk that he considers Cork to be better than everywhere.
The rapunzel lookalike has been shunned by former friends in RTE and other unknown Dublin media outlets following his admission.
"I would move to Cork", he said, "we've only been speaking for ten minutes and we have two extraordinarily brilliant ideas which have come out of Cork...no ideas come out of Dublin ever...we've very stupid people running Dublin - very stupid people running the country from Dublin. Cork is the place to be in my view".
It is unclear if Waters was drinking a Beamish or Murphy's at the time of his moment of mental clarity but when spotted on holidays in mid-October in Nerja in Spain by a PROC agent a can of Cork stout was secretly poured into his paella in a beach side restaurant. This may have caused the 'Cork' neurons in Water's vast brain to connect to each other allowing such high level free thinking.
This transformation can often take years but Waters may have some unknown Cork heritage that helped to speed up the process.
John Waters is originally from Roscommon, a suburb of Dublin. You are allowed to buy him a Cork pint if you see him.
