Hollywood Superheroes Defeated by Corkonian
with Comrade Colm O'Shea
Now that we're getting a little bit bored with our success on home soil (All Irelands'a plenty, Eircom League, National Basketball titles etc) some Corkonian's have decided to take on new challenges across the big pond:
My name is Colm O'Shea from Kilnaglory (just west of Ballincollig). I lived in California and trained to be a wavy-gravy yoga teacher over 2005, learning a few superpowers myself in the process - like how to live with my girlfriend, also how to eat copious amounts of meat in the company of vegetarians.
Whilst searching out new challenges in the U.S. Comrade O'Shea was confronted by Spiderman. The crowd here are unpreturbed, knowing by his t-shirt that our Comrade is well capable of defending himself (note Comrade O'Shea's poised left fist). |
But it wasn't until I visited a friend in L.A. that my meagre powers made me fair game for these super-freaks. I managed to kill the Pirate, as you can see. But Spiderman was more wiley, he asked me for a dollar and while I was occupied he went for my throat.
Looking at that jaw breaker this could be any of the Waterford Senior Hurling panel - well used to hiding behind helmets when confronted by the might of the People's Republic of Cork. |
Batman plain sucker-punched me. Police told me to let it go. I'm just glad my girlfriend Marie had the presence of mind to shoot the whole thing with a disposable camera; we can release these photos to the Republic as a warning: envy of Corkonianism is growing. Corkonians should travel in groups when abroad - it's just the world we live in these days.
Finally, the veteran of the Balincollig Five Day War (sparked by comments from a few Ovens feens about an old doll from Innishmore Estate in 1998) gets the upper hand. Normally applied with a broken Smirnoff Ice bottle the lethal "Ballincollig-Bypass" goes straight to the heart of this pirate. |
