Jackie Healy-Rae to Play Jabba the Hut
31st Jul 2014
Former Kerry South TD Jackie Healy-Rae is to make a cameo appearance in the new Star Wars movie currently being filmed on Sceilig Mhíchíl island. The popular tourist island off the Kingdom’s coast is currently out of bounds to the public but in a trade off for the dip in tourism dollars the former TD has bagged himself a cameo appearance in the new movie playing the character Jabba the Hutt.

Well he’s been acting his whole life”, said casting director Julie MacArthur, “we reviewed many of Jackie’s performances in Dáil Éireann and that country-bumpkin character that he does is just amazing. We hired him straight away to play Jabba.”
