Micheál: Let's Get Ireland 'Woking'
28th Feb 2011
After a pasting at the polls Fianna Fáil’s new strategy in rebuilding its party from the ground up has taken an interesting twist.
Seeing the results of Fine Gael’s election slogan “Let’s Get Ireland Working” Micheál Martin is now believed to be considering duplicating the phrase but with his particular sweet and sour own flavour.
'My name Mee Hall, whey you fwom?'
Wok in the Park
With an already well established penchant for mimicking Chinese people, as evidenced during the 2011 election campaign, Martin is believed to be strongly considering rebranding the Fine Gael phrase by simply dropping the ‘r’ from the word ‘working’.
“The Irish have a love of cooking”, said a Fianna Fáil source, “and this party proposes to provide training for thousands of unemployed construction workers who will find work in China as cooks”.
Two wongs making it right
With its economy now the second biggest in the world along with the biggest population on the planet, the Asian state will need an enormous amount of food to sustain workers in their two million cities and Irish cooks will find plenty of work there.
“Fianna Fáil’s rebuildling through out Ireland will focus on creating jobs abroad for Irish people”, said our source, “we believe Labour and Fine Gael’s plans will go about recovering the economy in completely the wong way."
