CEOL O MHUSCRAÍ / MUSIC FROM MUSKERRY

Following their sellout concert in The Briery Gap, new music collective Ceol o Mhuscraí/Music from Muskerry will present a show featuring an array of talent on Thurs. 19 August. The concert will include a wonderful variety of music from the best in traditional singing and lively tunes to original, contemporary songs and American folk music.

Featured on the night will be the wonderful traditional singer Fiona Kelleher from Macroom. Fiona is known for her beautifully pure and enchanting voice. She has recorded and toured extensively with supergroup North Cregg and has recently released her first solo album My Love Lies to great critical acclaim. She will be joined by a fine trio of musicians:


Gearoid O Duinnin, one of the finest exponents of guitar playing in the traditional music scene today as well as being a noted visual artist.

Renowned accordionist, Richard Lucey has played with many bands including Altan and North Cregg. Expect to be delighted by his fresh and energetic approach to the tunes of Sliabh Luachra.

Flute player Conal Ó Grada is known the length & breadth of Ireland for his lively, fluid and robust style. He has released two cds to date, The Top of Coom& Cnoic Buí.


Noel Shine & Mary Greene will be joined onstage by their daughter Ellie, who at thirteen, is gathering quite a following for her gogeous voice, mature stage presence and versatile ukelele playing. Noel & Mary hve toured for many years all over Ireland, Europe & the U.S. & have produced three acclaimed cds to date including The Land You Love the Best, voted one of the top 3 folk albums of the year of its release by the Irish Times.

Noel is a multi-instumentalist, much in demand as a session musician while Mary's voice has graced the recordings of many artists including Christy Moore, John Spillane and Frances Black. Her songs have been covered by Sean Keane & Kate Purcell. Noel & Mary play a variety of music including their own compositions, folk, bluegrass & Americana.

Saturday we have Artisan Markets run by Goldiefish with Kids Pavement Art and Graffitti Workshops turning the Town Square into huge Art Gallery. That night we have The Frank & Walters supported by 3 Piece Sweet in the Marquee. €12 on the door.

Sunday the markets run again with, Rory Gallagher Tribute, The Ceili AllStars, free disco with DJ Kevin Keeenan, Guerilla Theatre, and the Marquee that night has Mick Feck & The Junctions and Two Time Polka.
