Mexican Team receive Republica t-shirts

Special Olympics
A few months ago a brand new Spanish PRC t-shirt was unveiled to celebrate the announcement that Cork City and Blarney would be host town to Mexico for the Special Olympics.

Five euros from every t-shirt sold was donated to the Special Olympics. The Peoples Republic of Cork sponsored Eduardo Morales, 33, who competed in tennis.

EUR1000+ also has gone straight to the Cork Organising committee, and when all remaining t-shirts have been sold any surplus will go to support Disabled Cork athletes.

It was also decided to hand over 92 t-shirts to the Mexican team to ensure they would not forget their visit to the People's Republic. This was done at the Mardyke Sport Centre where the team got a taste of Gaelic games togging out with the Cork Senior hurling team. Later in the week at the Lord Mayors civic reception at City Hall the entire Mexican team arrived wearing their Republica t-shirts! The job.

The athletes enjoyed a wild night of gymnastic displays and Irish dancing.

Tom Rice, the chairman of the Cork Host Town Committee was very vocal in his thanks for the t-shirts and the PR lady for the Mexican team was extremely physical in her thanks which was greatly appreciated. PeoplesRepublicOfCork.com would like to say a sincere thanks to everybodeeee who bought a Spanish PRC t-shirt. You have genuinely made a difference. We are now going to let stock of the special edition Republica t-shirt run out - if you would like to purchase one click here.
We will continue to donate EUR5 per shirt until current stocks run out.
