MURPHY’S Little Big Nights Out will bid farewell to summer 2011 with MURPHY’S Little Big Weekend - a fantastic showcase of all that is great about Cork (with a few visitors thrown in for good measure!). MURPHY’S Little Big Nights Out has long celebrated the very best of Cork culture and MURPHY’S Little Big Weekend will be no exception! Running from August 26^th to 28^th, the weekend will feature four vital ingredients for a great night out in Cork - food, pints, music and laughter! MURPHY’S Little Big Weekend will take place at the Beamish and Crawford site on South Main Street, the proposed area for the exciting new Brewery Quarter development. MURPHY’S will be installing a very specially imported marquee, bringing it to life with a mini-festival feel and filling it with great entertainment. MURPHY’S Little Big Weekend will be five free events over three fun-filled days and nights, exclusively for those who savour their pint of MURPHY’S.
 

MURPHY’S Little Big Weekend will blast off on Friday August 26^th with a huge show from Cork’s best loved rock-pop merchants Fred, performing all their best loved hits for the gathered MURPHY’S clan!  Support on the night will be from the hotly-tipped Cork band Slow Motion Heroes.

Saturday August 27^th will feature two events – the Afternoon Food Fair will showcase the bountiful culinary delights that Cork has to offer, celebrating the work of local chefs, vendors and producers alike. This will be a really nice opportunity for MURPHY’S fans to munch, nibble and sip their way through Saturday afternoon, choosing from a smorgasbord of foodie delights while enjoying a complimentary pint of MURPHY’S or Beamish.

Later on in the evening, MURPHY’S and City Limits Comedy Club will have the pleasure of hosting an evening with Ireland’s best loved comedian Tommy Tiernan, who will perform his latest show Crooked Man. MURPHY’S fans will receive sound advice from Tommy on how to deal with turning forty and the challenges of growing old!

After a weekend of high octane music and comedy, Sunday August 28^th will be a chance to kick back and relax for the afternoon at The Sunday Session in association with De Barras. The session promises to be a gathering of the good and the great in local trad and folk circles, for a lazy afternoon, stretched on bean bags, with plenty of foot tapping and stout sipping. On Sunday evening, MURPHY’S Little Big Weekend will come to a close with a very special private event called MURPHY’S Gives Back.

It’s a small thank you to all those who support MURPHY’S throughout the year, Murphy's wants to thank all those who have been part of Little Big nights Out especially the publicans of Cork and their staff.

However, MURPHY’S will also be opening up the evening’s celebrations to some of our great Facebook fans in recognition of the times you’ve made us laugh with the smart arse comments and the few times you’ve made us cry with the brutal honesty. The evening will be one of MURPHY’S, grub and the groovy stylings of Soul Driven, a nice way to round off a great Little Big Weekend and we won’t keep you up too late!

All of the events during MURPHY’S Little Big Weekend are for MURPHY’S fans and each event will be free to attend.However, you must register your details at www.littlebignightsout.com to be in with a chance of receiving tickets. Once you have registered, simply select the events you would most like to attend and we’ll let you know as soon as we can if you’ve been lucky enough to nab a pair of tickets. There are only so many MURPHY’S fans that can actually fit into our lovely marquee and we won’t be able to meet all the demand for these free events, so please make sure to register your details soon to be in with a chance to bag your tickets.
