New Cork Street Mural

J'ever think when you're walking around town and you see something manky that makes you feel morto that visitors to the city might see it? The next thought might be that all it really needs is a clean and lick'a paint.

No? Well, we do. All the time. All the gammy hoardings around NAMA buildings and others are shambolic eye-sores and making the city look shabby in places. They could be not only cleaned and spruced up with a lick of paint but turned into something even moderately interesting for a only a few hundred euro.

We decided to try it out and tracked down Tom Doig, a proud Cork man from Rosscarbery, who, if we do say so, has done a fantastic job in adding to the rejuvenation of Cornmarket Street by creating this Cork mural.

Cara Magazine already has a reputation for publishing "Cork pornography" - the kind that gets every proud Corkonian's ego nice and pert to the point that it once resulted in a man being ascorted off an Aer Lingus flight from London having been unable to resist the temptation to interfere with his own airbus under a Cara magazine mid-flight.

Anyway, the temptresses at Cara Magazine have published another glowing article on Cork city and our art piece got featured. The job.
