Several Kerry Fans To Travel to Croke Park

Most fans give up on Kerry after a while.

Croke Park officials are bracing themselves for a 600% increase in the number of Kerry (prounced Kerr-ah) fans traveling to Croke Park this weekend.

In case you've been living under a rock or in a different country for the last few weeks Cork footballers take on the Kerrymen in the All Ireland semi-final at 4pm on Sunday and it looks like the worst travelled fans in Ireland could be about to loose their reputation as bad travelers.

As usual the Rebel Army will travel en masse to support Billy Morgan's boys despite being conned by GAA Headquarters two weeks ago when the fat cats decided to put Cork's football quarter final and hurling semi-final on separate days.

Loser! Kerry never got to grips with the small ball either.

Kerry, who are not capable of fielding a hurling team, were massacred by Cork in Pairc Ui Chaoimh in the Munster Final replay and the increase in the amount of Kerry fans traveling to Sunday's decider is testament to the lack of confidence in their team.

Frightened that they will not see their county in championship action again until 2007 several Kerry based football fans are believed to have bought tickets for the Cusack Stand. This is a phenomenal increase in demand since July after Brendan Keneally was registered as the only Kerry fan at this year's Munster Final in Cork.

"It might be the lascht time we shee dis crowd playing," said the Kenmare man whilst removing a small lamb chop from his beard, "and with the help of God they'll do ush all a favour and feck off anyway - t'would be a lesschon to de county board and we'd shave a fortune going ta de final."

The two Kerry suporters that turned up for the Munster semi-final.

Normally all Kerry fans traveling to a game outside Kerry fit in a single taxi but this time three taxis have been ordered from Mickey Cabs in Tralee by the Kerry County Board to fit what looks like Kerry fan's biggest ever attendance at a match that wasn't an All-Ireland final.

However. last night a GAA official said he could not rule out that the surge in ticket sales in Kerry was in fact Cork people living within the confines of the Kingdom buying tickets for Sunday's game.

Meanwhile Cork are already through to the All Ireland hurling final where they'll meet Kilkenny. The Cats beat Clare last Sunday - a team Cork have already crucified in the first round of the Munster Championship so as well as the double the treble is still very much on the cards! All together now....How oft do my thoughts'
