Woeful Waterford Whipped

Wilting Waterford Wacked

The Rebels waltzed to victory yesterday in the Munster Semi final "clash" at Semple Stadium in Thurles. A predictably classy performance from the Cork side made mince meat of their opponents whose staggering reliance on one man show and Lady of the Match Eoin Kelly seems to have the Deise in strangely confident mood as they trudge into the pits of the qualifiers.
Waterford showed their true colours in the first half as little Joe Deane was awarded a penalty for common assault. Trickles of human excrement could be seen running down the inside legs of the three Waterford players who stood between the posts as Sully marched up the field to perform the execution.
The compassionate Cork man already aware that Waterford were on the road to certain humiliation and seeing the trembling Deise Defenders decided to be merciful and put the ball over the bar instead of putting the trio into orbit. The trauma he put Waterford's backline through however effected them right to the end as they continued to crumble under Rebel hooves through Deano in the first half and Corcoran in the second.
Hurray! |
As predicted last week John Mullane was marshalled superbly by Pat Mulcahy, believe it or not, the man is only second choice corner back to Detective Sherlock! After his naughty behaviour last year Mullane received a huge reception from the Cork crowd albeit for his countless school boy errors while under 'savage' pressure from Mulchay. Hurray!
Despite the concerns of the hurling conservatives on Dublin's RTE programme The Sunday Game "Samba Hurling" is clearly here to stay as the Rebels entertained the crowd with Globe Trotter style movements all the way from Cusack to Corcoran. The highlight however involved All Star Niall McCarthy as he received a pass from Se·n âg just inside the 65. With his back to the
posts he allowed himself one quick hop on the hurley then turned around and shot a perfect point. Legend!
Corcoran was sublime and showed why Cork are clearly going to retain their All Ireland crown and win the Munster title. Like a game of Hammer & Frogs at the fair ground when Waterford switched their best man onto Deano, Corcoran popped up and banged over 2 points. And'
