Join Cork band Paradox and Dublin band Jar of Dirt as they celebrate the music of two of Seattle's most iconic bands Nirvana and Alice in Chains in memory of Kurt Cobain who passed away 31 years ago and Layne Staley who passed away 23 years ago on April 5th.
Cork based Alternative Rockers Paradox return to the Crane Lane Theatre stage on Saturday April 5th playing a full set of Nirvana tunes spanning their entire catalog in memory of Kurt Cobain who passed away 31 years ago this April. Paradox are no stranger to the Crane Lane having played many full house shows as well as performing memorable Nirvana nights since 2014 for Kurt Cobain's yearly anniversary.
Paradox were originally formed in 1997 by brothers Pete Mac and Mike Mac. The early Paradox sound was heavily influenced by the Grunge Era of the 90's. Paradox have released 4 studio albums to date along with numerous singles. Singer Songwriter Pete Mac has also released 2 solo albums. The
debut Paradox album 'Circle of Growth' was recorded in Los Angeles in 2000 and released on a US label. Their second album 'Sacred' was recorded and released in 2004, 'Corporate Pollution' was released in 2011 and 'Chapters' released in 2015.
2020 saw the release of their latest single 'Welcome to the Happy Place' however the band had to cancel a number of shows and plans as a result of Covid.
Paradox have toured both Europe and the US over the years as well as playing support to the likes of Therapy?, Kerbdog and Shonen Knife and more recently sharing the stage with fellow Irish bands Fangclub and Bitch Falcon. 2020 also saw singer Pete Mac returning to his solo endeavors with the digital release of various cover versions and the release of his first original single titled 'Disappear' in over 10 years. A follow up single titled 'Escape' was released in 2021. Featuring the guest vocals from US/French iconic musician/ artist Lisa Papineau.
2023 saw the release of Pete Mac's second full length solo album 'Hiber Nation'. The band returned to playing live in 2024 with new original music set to be released in 2025.

Jar of Dirt
Formed in 2022, Dublin based Alice In Chains tribute band Jar of Dirt combines members of grunge powerhouses Creep, Ritual Effect and Chemical Addiction, including former members of AIC tribute Angry Chair. The band came together from a mutual love of the music of Alice in Chains, an unrivaled passion to perform, and a desire to deliver a sound worthy of the memory of the late Layne Staley who passed away on April 5th 2002. Together they bring a fresh taste of the Seattle Grunge Scene, receiving only enthusiastic reviews from die-hard Alice in Chains fans.
