This 2 hour class is an introduction to Basketry where Aelís, of Cois Laoi Willow, will teach you foundation skills during this guided session.
The project focus for this class are willow stars - just in time for Christmas!
Your first project will be a three rod star to teach you the basics of creating a frame, and then you'll move on to your second star where you'll add to your knowledge base by learning a basic weave, which is the foundation for anyone who wants to learn basketry long-term.
Aelís will also explain the important concept of wet/dry willow weaving which is essential to create stable basketry.
Materials are included in the cost of the class and all tools are provided.
We are fully inclusive and all skill levels (Adult 18+) are welcome, however, please note that this course requires hand-eye coordination and the ability to follow
