DisTort Series is turning 1, and we are throwing a big ass party with one of the most renound and legendary DJ's/Producers in the country to celebrate.
We are delighted to announce Jon Hussey as our headliner to put a stamp on the occasion, expect a masterful blend of music woven together through digital and vinyl format from one of the best. Jon has a career spanning over three decades and is regarded as one of the longest if not the longest DJ solely playing Techno in the Irish Scene.
In the early days of his career Jon kickstarted his own night Planet Dub in Columbia Mills in Dublin, and in 1999 he was among the first group from Ireland to qualify for the Red Bull Academy held in Berlin where he showcased his mixing skillset. Jon also helped setup and establish 'Bray Institute For Further Education' BIFE DJ Techniques & Music Production Course which has seen many emerging Irish talents progress into professional career paths in Music and is still to this day the only full time DJ
techniques & Music Production course in Ireland.
Jon has played in many Techno havens including Amsterdam, London, Bratslava, Berlin, Leeds, Turin and New York playing alongside renowned Techno artsts like Surgeon, Joey Beltram, Jef Mills, Steve Bicknell, Sunil Sharpe, Takaaki Itoh, Ancient Methods, Loktbrada, Rumenige, PLAYER, Dave Clarke, Mark Broom, Inigo Kennedy, Neil landstrumm, Reeko, DJ Boss, Bas Mooy, PERC, Hardfoor, Oscar Mulero, Jerome Hill, Paula Temple, Ellen Allien, Exium and Thomas P Heckmann.
Jon has previously released with fellow Techno DJ Sunil Sharpe as part of a joint project under the moniker 'Tricaustc' with “the Caustophobic Pressure EP” on Komisch records, with further tracks on RLSD Records, Earwiggle, Ceili tracks, Deliquent Delivery, Circuit Structure Records and most recently on Netherlands based label R3voluton Records with a track on the Viktms Vol.1 Various EP alongside some excellent current producers like Linear System and Matas Fridell.
On support we see DisTort Series bossman go back 2 back with the man who has been here since day 1, Munk. The last back 2 back being a set not to forget, we have the pleasure of having the lads run it back again on support. Expect more digital and vinyl madness!
We cannot believe it has been a year since our first event but we are looking forward to celebrating with you all and the beautiful community we have been building, and we would like to say thank you for all your support so far, we would not be here if it was not for your support, so lets mark the occasion in style, shall we....
