Fintan Lucy is a singer, guitarist and songwriter from Cork.
He played his first solo gigs at pubs like the North Gate Tavern and the Millwheel in the early '80s. He was later a member of local trad/folk bands Dúchas and PluckFocailWindSkin, and harmony based acoustic rock and roll outfit The Phintones, with Billy Kennedy, Taly Murphy, Dandan Fitzgerald and Aidan Butler.
He began writing and performing his own material in the mid '90s, and released a solo album of 11 original songs The Is and Was and Maybes in 2002, described by the Irish Examiner as “…utterly passionate…a timeless classic”. His songwriting shows influences of rock, through souland blues, to traditional and modern folk.
In recent years he has been working as a community musician and playing occasional solo gigs around Ireland, Britain, Switzerland and the States, as well as gigs in duos such as Go Rev with singer/pianist Dee Power.
