Join Fiona Boniwell for a gesture drawing workshop as part of Cork Lifelong Learning Festival. We will discuss what gesture means in drawing and why it is important. We will then draw from a combination of reference photos and life, taking it in turns to pose briefly for each other. Holding a simple pose and trying to visualise it can be as beneficial to our drawing practice as observing that of others. The aim of this workshop is to promote swift analysis of a subject along with a relaxed, loose approach to drawing.
Drawing materials and reference resources will be provided. Feel free to bring your own if preferred. Duration: 90 minutes Materials: A4 Cartridge paper, 2B and 6B pencils, blending stubs, erasers References: Fully body poses; a variety ranging from natural to dynamic Fiona Boniwell is a visual artist based in Kinsale, Cork.
