Young student Stefan (Klaus Grunberg) hitchhikes from Germany to Paris where he falls in with a free spirited crowd. Amongst them is an American drifter named Estelle (Mimsy Farmer), whom Stefan falls for. In pursuit of adventure they travel to Ibiza where their passionate love affair and experimentation with drugs plays out with dangerous consequences. The directorial debut by Barbet Schroeder is a romantic yet grounded look at the bohemian lifestyle of the late sixties, featuring an atmospheric soundtrack by Pink Floyd.
“A compelling snapshot of an era that now seems so remote it virtually plays like a fantasy film.” Mondo Digital
