During Soviet times, the tradition of making Motanka dolls was somewhat lost, but in recent years they have made a powerful comeback. Today, many households in Ukraine and beyond cherish Motanka dolls as traditional oberihs – protective charms that carry deep cultural and spiritual significance. In this session, you’ll learn the history, meaning, and techniques of crafting your own Motanka, infusing it with your intentions and creativity.
