Irish Water

Socialist party CLLR Brian Mccarthy is on radio about the poor quality of water particularly on the northside, he has a protest planned
this week, Is it a case that the water protests of ten years ago have set things back infrastrucure wise?
The irony of the Far Left in this country complaining about protests around accommodation up and down the land, the intimidation of workers, the harassment of public figures and business owners. This was their blueprint for getting shit done during the water protests. They politicised communities, organised them and in some case radicalised them. And more importantly, got elected on the back of them.

Things are going a bit skewwhiff for the FL at the moment and I genuinely can’t see them clawing back the lost support here, which unfortunately is the loss of left wing politics here, leaving it in the hands of utopian dreamers and blue haired screamers.

They were focking warned at the time

The water infrastructure needed and needs huge investment but no one wants to pay for it as usual.

Sigh!

We already pay for it Statty. This has been pointed out to you a number of times previously but you in full bluebot mode just won't accept the facts.

Water in certain areas around Montenotte as far as I know is discoloured and isn't currently suitable for drinking at the moment, hence residents having to use bottled water.

Ah the old "Far Left" schtick again. If it isn't the Far Left, it's the bloody Far Right. And then there's always some blame to give to Sinn Féin as well. It's a wonder how the Government ever manage to get anything done

Clearly not enough as you can see all the delay in investment issues as well as delays in building new homes due to the lack of new water infrastructure for mains water and sewage.

Newly built homes cannot even be occupied as they do not have a mains connection.

Builders and new homeowners are frustrated.

They all would just love to meet you and your soundbites.

Ah, so you do at long last accept we pay for water. Glad that's been established even if we may not agree that we pay quite enough.

You being the man who loves the stats can you tell us how much money Irish Water paid their executives and staff last year Statty?

If we fucking paid for it soundy, wouldn't it be grand? We don't pay for it because we've never insisted on paying for it. So it's gone on expensive hospitals, teachers, roads, aid, welfare and millions of other things.

It all goes into the exchequer big pot of tax and is doled out annually to which ever Minister shouts the loudest.

Does all car tax just go on roads?

No.

Up your game.

Funny you mention car tax, when it was said that some of the money raised in "car tax" is ring fenced for the provision of water.

Not sure what you're trying to say here J.
