Immigration Thread

Like he should apologise for his success 🙄

It might be no harm to have more capable people in the Dail instead of ex teachers and lifer politicians.

At least they aren't pretending to be something they are not.

Mention the wealth the HR clan are sitting on and they get very touchy. They prefer to keep that aspect hidden.

I'm not sure if they are "capable", just profiting off a broken system without attempting to change that system. They are grifters.

Both governments will put a cold towel on this issue over the next week or two. Nothing much to be gained for either side politically.

Really?
The Conservative government in the UK are playing to their "we hate them bluddy furriners" core support with local elections imminent, and GFFG will try to pretend they have the situation all in hand with our local elections coming up in a month's time.

'Grifters' my bollocks. Members of the Dail have to state their businesses and property owned. MHR owns a lot of property, fair play to him.

Its not a 'secret' its a matter of record.

Ukrainians fleeing war have every right to be here. Housing them doesnt preclude anyone from speaking on the wider issues.

Opposition & independent politicians are right to draw attention to our governments complete failure to tackle bogus asylum seekers and the wholly inadequate policing of our borders/carrying out of deportations.

Who cares.

Genuinely. Responses to one hashtag are completely irrelevant.

80 per cent of those recently polled were unhappy with the government's handling of asylum seekers.

Which tallies with the recent SINDO poll that placed immigration as the #1 election issue for respondants.

Those are the only numbers that should matter to those in power.

You'd think after the recent referendum fiasco they might have learned some lessons about listening to the electorate. Seemingly not.

Blathering on about the much hyped up far right , misinformation and nefarious foreign actors is singing from last years hymn sheet and people are no longer listening.

An analysis of Twitter posts by Sky News' Data & Forensics Unit.

You are happy for politics here including online polls to be influenced for nefarious reasons by right-wing crackpots from Slough, Ohio and Vladivostock?

Tommy Robinson fans amplifying issues here?

Fair enough.
